Two major anti-physiocratic works were published in 1767: Forbannais'
Principes et observations économiques and Graslin's Essai analytique sur la
richesse et sur l'impôt. These two books dealt with a controversy between
the physiocrats and their opponents who had made their views known
in journals: the Éphémérides du citoyen, directed by the firey Baudeau one
the one hand, and the Journal d'agriculture directed by the Abbé Yvon
and Forbonnais on the other.
